Nearly half the minority ethnic population the UK is aged under 24. What kind of citizens and consumers are these youngsters? Do organisations cater for their diverse needs?
Working with children and young people requires additional skills and even stricter ethical procedures. Whether research is face-to-face or online, we always seek parental consent. We draw on our extensive knowledge of socio-cognitive development to devise research methods that are user-friendly and meaningful for children. We make use of pictures, hands-on activities and fun tasks which respect the shorter attention span and concrete reasoning style of children to elicit valid data. We have worked with children from the age of six onwards, and with children deemed especially "hard-to-reach".
